A BEEKEEPER'S KITCHEN
CLASSIC, QUALITY ENGLISH KITCHEN DESIGN
Making the most of a compact space was key in this project in an eighteenth century cottage.
The room is sandwiched between a corridor, a lean-to and a dining area lacking natural light. Seeking out nooks and crannies, we found space for a built-in larder under the stairs.
This meant we could lay the furniture out generously, adding surface in a friendly way with a curved peninsula.
Its shape allows it to be slightly bigger than if rectangular as it facilitates easier, more natural movement around the space.
We added a skylight and new French doors and placed a sink cabinet under the window, the extra light proving a bonus.
Our client decants and processes her bees’ honey efficiently in the large stainless steel Belfast sink. Hand-made tiles complement the historic walls and window.
