COMPACT KITCHEN - OPEN PLAN LIVING
LUXURY APARTMENT, MODERN KITCHEN DESIGN
To suit their loft-style apartment, this young couple asked for a modern, compact kitchen design and simply expressed furniture with industrial finishes.
With highly focused design work we were able to accommodate their ambitious cooking style within modest sized work surfaces. We made these triangular to put awkward corners and sloping walls in the mansard-style attic space to productive use.
There was not quite enough room for a central kitchen island so we designed a peninsula instead using suspended concrete, open underneath and with a rack below.
Light travels through this piece of furniture, providing a feeling of not being closed off from the rest of the living space.
The subtly clinical aesthetics of this kitchen are in tune with our clients’ scientific, exacting approach to cooking. One of them is a chemist.
