As a response from enthusiastic home renovators, we are about to launch our ‘Design Only’ service. These professional amateurs, or Pro-Ams, as described by Charlie Leadbeater, writer and founder of the Think Tank Demos, are part of a growing group of individuals emboldened by the use of the Internet as an information source and source of inspiration.

We are reminded of 18th century British aristocrats who had passions for the amateur approach to everything from music to academic research to field archaeology, using their houses or, more specifically their libraries, as a base from which to pursue their intellectual interests and private hobbies.
